Part 1 (~1 hour, 2:00-3:00)
Title: Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) – CTfasttrak
Presenter: Michael Sanders / Transit Administrator / ConnDOT
Bus rapid transit (BRT) systems are innovative, high capacity, cost effective public transit systems that improve regional mobility by using buses on a dedicated guideway. Michael Sanders, Transit Administrator of the Connecticut Department of Transportation will discuss the CTfastrak BRT system and the process that went into making it a success.
Part 2 (~1 hour, 3:00-3:15 Intro, 3:15-3:30 break for training group to Join, 3:30-4:15)
Title: Separated Bike Lanes – MassDOT Planning and Design Guidelines
Presenter: Lou Rabito, P.E. / Complete Streets Engineer / MassDOT
A separated bike lane is an exclusive facility for bicycles, located within or directly adjacent to the roadways and that is physically separated. Lou Rabito, Complete Streets Engineer of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation will discuss the MassDOT planning and design guide for the separated bike lane.
